36. Finish Line

We are given free will. We can choose to struggle or to surrender. Indeed, at every moment, to live or to die. We can wait for death or get a head start. There is no hurry to decide.

There are countless reasons given to leave early. There is one primary reason to stay. It’s not about guilt or religious visions of hell or eternal damnation. It’s just this.

You are on mission you voluntarily decided to take on. I know you don’t remember but reading this you know it’s true. You alone are responsible to fulfill the promise you made to yourself.

Earth is a hard-core choice. It is chaotic, irrational, crazy, evil and beautiful. All at the same time in seemingly random waves of experience. You could have taken on an easier deployment. To take an easy stroll up a gentle grassy hill covered with flowers to enjoy the sunrise.

But no. You were bold like a Special Forces warrior and chose to summit Everest. Balls out. If you fail you get points for difficulty. Easy lives gain few points even if you succeed. The longer you persevere and laugh at the option to quit the more points you gain on your journey to ultimate perfection.

Your efforts will be rewarded in ways you can’t yet perceive or comprehend. Winning or losing are irrelevant concepts. The mission is yours alone and is unique. Others don’t really know you, or your mission and can’t judge you or your progress. They are on their own missions and the reverse applies to you equally.

Stick around for a while. Let’s see what happens next. Don’t make permanent decisions for temporary problems. The light at the end of the tunnel appears suddenly when you least expect it. Know this. If you try “God” has your back. If you quit there will be no harsh judgements. Just empathy, understanding, unconditional love and yes, disappointment. You will rest and then dust your ass off and try again.

You are meant to succeed at life and lives. We are all heroes for the effort. Congratulations for making it this far. The finish line comes soon enough. Go with the flow and be patient. See you on the other side.
