35. Your Lying Eyes

Have you noticed that nobody is ever wrong about anything? How no matter what, it’s never their fault. Even if it’s all on video. Who are you going to believe… me or your lying eyes?

A car runs a red light and crashes into a car that had the right-of-way. Not my fault.. you should have seen me coming! This is not a joke. A woman is caught cheating in the act by her husband. Not my fault, you always work late and don’t pay attention to me! A shoplifter is caught. I didn’t steal nothin she screams as stolen goods spill out of her purse. Not her fault because she needs things but can’t afford to pay.

Accountability is a rare character trait. It’s a lot easier to deny, shift blame or gaslight than admit fault. The Law of the Commons is relevant here. If a few people make excuses we can adjust. If everybody does that civilization collapses. Listen… do you hear it?

My ancestors were slaves so I deserve to be a pilot. Even if I was last in line and those infinitely more qualified were bumped. I cheated. I destroyed their careers and livelihoods. Their families suffered. But I don’t care. I deserve to get what I want because I want what I want. And if you object then you are a misogynist racist. The ultimate coercive tactic that the weak-willed, guilt ridden for no reason succumb to.

Last words as the plane imitates a mole and burrows into the ground. DEI is one of the most corrupt and evil concepts created by humans since Disco. Any real or imagined disadvantage is compensated for with unearned and unjust privilege. The passengers that died in the plane crash did not own slaves and the black (inevitably female) pilot was never a slave. They paid for a safe flight but were sacrificed at the DEI altar.

The oh-so entitled want what they see others have and declare the inequality as unfair. They demand justice but would not want it if it was real. What they don’t see is the long arduous road to prosperity earned by those who achieved it. The long grueling hours. The doubts and risks faced down. Challenging curriculums to earn serious useful degrees. The personal sacrifices and loans. They see the end result and want it all now. Just because.

This is not some political screed.

This mindset and behavior stops your soul’s evolution like the brick wall that wasn’t there yesterday so it’s not my fault stops your car in it’s tracks as your life stops too.

Don’t change to give justice or favors to others. Do it because it’s a losers game and steers your life’s trajectory to a dead-end. Your mission will be scrapped and you will know it. You will become depressed and fatalistic. The more entrenched the excuses and self-defeating behaviors the more likely they will carry over to your future lame attempts at productive lifetimes. You will stay among the other laggards and that will be your own little personal hell. Even then it will not be your fault. It’s God’s fault…
