31. Right Livilhood

We all must get what we need to survive and hopefully prosper. This is not an excuse to lie and steal harming others for personal gain. This concept is eloquently described in Buddhism as Right Livelihood. Avoid jobs that require and encourage adversarial us vs. them relationships with customers (marks). The only way to survive will be to become a ruthless, callous sociopath. The long term consequences for anyone with even a sliver of remaining pride and soul is depression, addiction and inevitable health failures.

Your subconscious mind is connected to a greater reality. You can con your conscious mind into believing whatever you want to believe. Your subconscious mind can never be fooled. It continuously monitors and looks for ways to help you. It will act to help you rid yourself of ill-gotten gains. It will steer you back to your righteous path by sabotaging your finances. The easy money will go easy. Spent recklessly. The guilt will eat away at you. You will know deep down that the money is toxic. If not corrected in time you are likely to end up broke, lonely suffering from a degenerative disease in a dingy little room rented above the hardware store.

Here is proof. If you really like a song you establish an emotional attachment to it. Your subconscious will now be helpful by making sure you hear it repeatedly until you go crazy. Has this ever happened to you? Could you force the song to stop? There is a way, it’s a secret.
