12. No-Wage Slavery

If you think wage slavery is bad, wait until traditional employment becomes even more impossible to obtain. Our tech overlords are toying with the world. They will end up trillionaires and you will get free money. Yippee! Every month an electronic deposit to your UBI (Universal Basic Income) account. How much will you get? Take a guess. How generous have our illustrious leaders and oligarchs been so far. That’s right. You may survive but only barely.

They will live on private islands and guarded compounds in luxurious splendor and opulence. You will live in a drab monstrous high rise with 20,000 people per building and 5 roommates to a 100 square foot room. With no windows. The bath is down the hall. You get 10 minutes every Tuesday.

Here is more fun. You will get a social credit score based on your unquestioning obedience and immediate compliance with whatever new rules and laws they impose. Your funds can be controlled with purchases approved or denied. You can be summarily evicted from your little box in the sky into the next and final step into abject poverty and misery which is the street and the dumpsters. You will not be lonely there.

Taking a salary is a trap that will look like heaven on Earth soon. Taking the little UBI handout, living on the new welfare, will be a death sentence to your freedom, individuality and self-respect. It’s OK, they will give you all the antidepressants and happy pills you can swallow.

This no-wage slavery will lead us into totalitarian tyranny on a scale to rival the Dark Ages. Future generations will spit and curse you for letting this happen. The path out of this dystopian future is to live independent off-the-grid economically if not physically. Prepare now for the reality you prefer.
